Description
Basketers is a late 16th century small house that has been extended over time. The oldest part of the building runs roughly north-south and is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding. It is one storey high with attics and consists of two and a half bays. The front elevation faces east and features three windows, with the central window being a semi-octagonal bow that contains four casements. The front door dates from around 1700. The roof has two eyebrowed dormers in the southern bay and is thatched with a ridge and gable. A later addition at the southern end creates an L-shaped plan; this part of the building is a three-bay range with a ridged and gabled roof, which includes three gabled dormers on the north side and has been heavily renovated.
