Description
No. 1 Ampthill Road is a house that was originally part of a pair, built in the 18th century and later modified in the 19th century. It features a timber-framed construction with a colourwashed roughcast render and a clay tile roof. The building has a two-room plan and stands two storeys high with attics.
On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century rectangular bay window and one three-light window, while the first floor has two two-light windows, all of which are 19th-century casements. The ground floor windows are flanked by doorways, each with a gabled hood supported by cut brackets. The left-hand doorway has a 20th-century glazed door, and the right-hand doorway has a 20th-century part-glazed door. A red brick central multiple ridge stack is present, along with small attic windows in the gable ends. At the rear, there is a lean-to addition.
