Description
No. 23 High Street is an 18th-century house that has some mid-19th century alterations. It is constructed of red brick featuring flared headers and has a gabled clay tile roof with decorative ridge cresting. The house has a double-pile plan and is two storeys tall with a three-window range. The 19th-century sash windows are set beneath cambered heads. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a semi-circular fanlight with interlaced glazing bars, and it is flanked by round-headed single lights. On either side of the door are paired narrow pilasters with large cut brackets that support a moulded cornice hood. At the rear left, there is a chimney stack with moulded Tudor-style terracotta pots.
