Description

This is a house, originally built in the 17th century, with shops occupying the ground floor. It is a timber-framed building that was later refronted in the 19th century with a colourwashed stucco facade. The roof is covered with clay tiles. Originally designed with a 2-room plan, the house extends over two storeys. The ground floor is now occupied by two 20th-century shop fronts. The first floor features two pairs of sash windows, arranged asymmetrically. The exterior features moulded stucco quoins and a parapet cornice, which includes a small arched section in the centre. A substantial red brick chimney stack, with a moulded string course and a pair of diagonal shafts, is located on the right-hand end. A 19th-century integral red brick stack is present on the left-hand gable end.
