Description
No. 11 George Street is a house that underwent 18th century alterations to an earlier structure, likely from the 17th century. The building features colourwashed brick, which partially replaces and partially encases a timber frame, and has a 20th century tile roof. It has a two-room plan and stands two storeys tall with attics.
On the ground floor, there are three sash windows of different sizes, all with glazing bars, two of which are set under cambered heads. The first floor has three 2-light casements, also of varying sizes and with glazing bars. The attic includes two hipped dormers that contain casements with glazing bars. There is a plank door on the right-hand side. A brick band runs along the first floor level, and there is a moulded timber cornice at the eaves. The building is topped with a colourwashed brick multiple ridge stack.
