Description
Nos. 39 and 43 on High Street are two houses that were formerly three separate properties. This 18th-century timber-framed building is encased in early 19th-century red brick, with some areas colourwashed. It features a gambrel roof covered with 20th-century tiles. The structure has a three-room plan and stands two storeys tall. There are three windows on each floor, all of which are 20th-century casements set beneath gauged brick cambered heads. The building has three doorways, all with semi-circular heads; the two on the left have 20th-century doors, while the right-hand doorway is blocked. A red brick double ridge stack serves the two left-hand rooms, and there is a red brick ridge stack on the right. This building is included for its group value.
