Description

No. 5 is an 18th-century cottage located on Warden Road, Northill. The building is timber framed, with parts of the frame exposed and the rest covered by colourwashed roughcast render; the rear wall was rebuilt in colourwashed brick. It has a thatched roof and a two-room plan with attic space. The cottage presents a gable end to the road. The east elevation features a 20th-century part-glazed double door on the left, a two-light casement window with glazing bars on the right, and two dormers with two-light casement windows, also with glazing bars. A red brick ridge stack serves a back-to-back hearth. A 20th-century single-storey addition is set into the left-hand gable. The main door and porch are located at the rear.
