Description

No. 53 is a cottage dating from the 18th century. It features colour washed rough cast and some brick over a timber frame, topped with a thatched roof. The building has a two-room plan and is one storey with attics. On the east elevation, there are two 2-light horizontal sash windows and an off-centre plank door located beneath a gabled thatched hood. There is a red brick integral stack on the south gable end. To the south, there is a one-storey addition that is rough cast and tiled, which also includes a 2-light horizontal sash window. Additionally, there is a 20th-century garage addition on the north gable end.
