Description

The Ankor is a house that was formerly known as the Anchor public house. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is timber framed, featuring colour washed rough cast on the right-hand bay and colour washed brick on the two left-hand bays. It has a 20th-century tiled roof and a three-room plan across two storeys.

The left-hand block has two windows on each floor, with the ground floor windows set under cambered heads, and a central front door. The right-hand block has one window on each floor. All windows are two-light horizontal sashes with glazing bars. A large red brick ridge stack is located to the right of the left-hand bay, and there is a small red brick gable end stack to the west. At the rear, there is a lean-to addition.
