Description
Edwalyn Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and again in 1984. It features a timber frame set on an ashlar and brick plinth, with painted brick and rendered infill, and a brick extension with a tiled roof. The house has three framed bays oriented north to south, with the gable end facing the street and an additional brick bay added to the south. There is an external brick stack on the north gable.
The north front of the cottage is one storey high and includes a small single-light casement window on the left. The entrance is located on the west front, which also has an attic lit by three gabled dormers, and features a roughly central ledged door. The framing consists of three square panels high with straight tension braces, and the north gable truss has three struts to the collar with V-struts in the apex.
