Description
Walnut Tree Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame set on an ashlar plinth, with painted brick infill and a machine tile roof. The building consists of two framed bays oriented east to west, with a stack located at the west gable. The south front has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by two gabled dormers. On the ground floor, there is a 3-light casement window to the left and an entrance to the right, which has a lean-to tiled canopy and a half-glazed door. The framing includes three square panels high with straight angle braces, although both gables have been rebuilt. An internal inspection indicates that the chimney stack was originally at the east gable, with a gable entrance adjacent to it.
