Description
Home Farm Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and restoration in the late 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered infill, a sandstone plinth, and a machine tile roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned north to south, with gable ends facing the street and stacks at the gable ends.
The west front has two storeys and displays irregular fenestration, including three 2-light 20th-century casement windows on the upper floor and the same number of similar windows on the ground floor. The entrance is located at the extreme left, featuring a gabled porch and a glazed door. The framing includes four square panels high with straight angle braces, and the ground floor of the north gable is close-studded. The north gable truss has two struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
