Description

Manor Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, set on an ashlar and brick plinth, and has a machine tile roof. The house is arranged in a T-shape; the main section runs east/west and consists of three framed bays, while a cross-wing extends from the west end, comprising two framed bays. A stack is located at the junction of these sections. A 20th-century addition is positioned on the south side. The west front has two storeys above a cellar, with three windows on the upper floor: two-light casements, with a paired window to the right. The ground floor has four windows, also two-light casements. The entrance is on the rear (east wall) of this section. The timber framing on the west front is four panels high, with straight tension braces; the rear wing has three panels, and the north gable displays two collars with multiple struts.
