April Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure set on a brick plinth, with rendered infill and a tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned north to south, with a brick extension to the north. A central stack is located in the framed part, and there is a lobby entrance. The house has two storeys and two windows, each with 2-light casements. On the ground floor, there are two additional 2-light casements, and the entrance is accessed through a glazed porch topped with a hipped tile roof.
