Description
Cherry Orchard Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and restoration completed in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with rendered infill, standing on a rubble plinth and topped with an asbestos tile roof. The building is arranged in two or three bays and is oriented east to west, with a gable-end stack of rubble located at the west end, which faces the street. The west gable is one storey high with an attic that is lit by a single-light casement window. On the ground floor, there is a lean-to structure that includes a 2-light casement window. The entrance is located in the left-hand (north) wall, and there are dormer windows in the attic. The framing consists of three square panels in height, and the gable truss features two struts supporting the collar and trenched purlins.
