Description

Wells Cottage is a 17th-century house that was restored in the late 20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill, set on a plinth of coursed rubble, and has a roof of graduated stone tiles. The house has three framed bays aligned north/south, with an external stack to the north gable, constructed of rubble with a square brick shaft. The east front features one storey and an attic, lit by three gabled dormers. The ground floor has three two-light casement windows, and an entrance to the left with a ledged and boarded door. The timber frame is composed of three square panels in height, with straight angle braces. The gable-end truss incorporates three struts to the collar, with V-struts in the apex.
