Description

Butts Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill, and the front has been re-faced in painted brick under a tile roof. The house has two framed bays aligned east to west, with gable-end stacks. The south front has two storeys and two 2-light casement windows. A flat-canopied ledged door is located to the left of the centre. A straight joint in the brickwork indicates the left-hand bay was refronted first. The timber framing to the rear is arranged in four square panels high. The roof trusses have struts to the collar with V-struts above. The building is included in the listing for its group value.
