Description
Drakeford Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and a hipped brick and tile roof that slopes to the east. The house consists of two framed bays arranged in an east/west orientation, with a central lobby entry positioned against a stack that has three brick shafts arranged in a 6-point star plan. The building is two storeys high and has irregular window placement, with three windows that are 3- and 4-light casements from the 20th century. The entrance features a Tudor arched doorway. The framing is exposed only on the left (west) bay, displaying four square panels high. Inside, the fireplaces are made of sandstone ashlar with oak lintels.
