Description

Mill House is a 17th-century house with 20th-century alterations. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill, set on a sandstone plinth, and has a tile roof. The house has an L-shaped plan, with limbs extending north and west, meeting at a chimney stack. Both limbs are two bays wide. The east front has one storey and an attic, lit by two gabled dormers, and features three windows: 2-light casements with plank weatherings above a doorway in the left gable. The timber framing consists of two rectangular panels up to the wall plate, with straight and angle braces (some lost and merely painted on). The south gable displays two queen struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
