Description

Ridgeway Court Farmhouse is a timber-frame building with brick infill, dating to circa 1600, and subsequently remodelled in the 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of sandstone ashlar, partially brick-clad, with a tile roof. The farmhouse has an L-shaped layout, with wings extending to the west and north. A substantial stack is located at the west end of the east/west wing, which serves as the kitchen.

The south-facing garden front is from the early 19th century and is two storeys high, featuring a dentilled cornice and three windows with flush-framed glazing bar sashes under segmental heads. The entrance is centrally located between the two left-hand ground floor windows and has a flat canopy supported by scrolled brackets, above a six-panel door. The east wall features a ground-floor section of stone with three windows, two of which are blocked. The window on the north end has three lights with chamfered mullions. The north wall of the north/south wing incorporates a string course to the ground floor, with exposed timber-framing above and straight tension braces.
