Description
The balustraded retaining wall of the lower terrace, located southwest of the Château Impney Hotel, was built between 1869 and 1875 by Auguste Tronquois. It is constructed of brick and ashlar and has a rectangular plan measuring approximately 75 metres by 50 metres, with circular projections at the west and east corners. There are flights of steps at the northwest and southeast sides that connect the upper part of the terrace to the lower part. The retaining walls are topped with a balustrade and feature rusticated ashlar pilasters at intervals along the walls.
