Description

The Steps is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and the 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill, topped by a tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays that are aligned east to west, with an extended brick chimney stack on the west gable. It has one storey with an attic that is illuminated by two gabled dormers. There are three windows: two are 2-light casements, and the central window is a single light. The entrance is located to the left of the center and is approached by stone steps. The framing on the east gable includes three square panels with straight tension braces. The gable truss has three struts supporting the collar, with V-struts in the apex.
