Description

The Church Lench War Memorial is a stone structure dedicated to the fallen of the First World War, with later additions for the Second World War. It features a Latin cross that rises from a corniced plinth, which stands on a two-stepped base. The moulded cornice on the front (south) face of the plinth is inscribed with "IN MEMORY OF," while the names of those who died in the First World War are recorded on the plinth below, accompanied by the inscription: "WHO DIED IN THE GREAT WAR./ 1914 – 1918." The top step of the base includes the inscription: "ALSO OF/ (NAMES)/ WHO DIED IN THE WORLD WAR 1939 – 1945." In front of the memorial, there is a blank stone tablet set into the grass.
