Description
The Thatch, Nuthurst Cottage, and End Cottage are three houses that likely date back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. They feature a timber-frame construction with painted brick and rendered infill set on a lias plinth, topped with a thatched roof that has a half-hipped design on the west side. The houses are arranged in four framed bays running east to west, with the west bay being lower than the others. Each house has a stack. They are one storey high with an attic, which is illuminated by three eyebrow dormers. The ground floor has seven windows, mostly consisting of 20th-century single-light casements. The entrance to Nuthurst Cottage is roughly central, while the entrance to End Cottage is off-centre to the right, and the entrance to The Thatch is located in the left gable end. The framing includes two square panels high on the left and three square panels high on the right, with the east gable featuring a truss with a collar and tie-beam. Inside, two cruck trusses are visible.
