Description

Manor Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber-framed and has painted brick and wattle-and-daub infill, standing on a painted lias stone plinth. The roof is thatched. The house has two framed bays aligned east/west, and a gable-end stack to the east. It has one storey with an attic lit by an eyebrow dormer. The windows are irregular and consist of three 20th-century casements. The main entrance is to the rear (south) elevation. The timber framing is arranged in three square panels high, with straight angle braces. There are three struts to the collar, with V-struts above in the west gable. This building holds group value as a well-preserved example of a vernacular cottage.
