Description

A non-conformist Baptist chapel, dating from circa 1829, constructed of brick with a slate roof. The building is aligned north/south, with the south gable facing the street. A minister’s house is located at the north end, featuring a gable-end stack. The south front has a brick coped verge to the gable and a band to the first floor. This band incorporates a circular ventilator with a decorative iron grill in the gable. The front features two storeys and three windows, with metal-framed casements having segmental heads and stone sills. The ground floor has a central entrance with a two-leaf door set beneath a radially glazed fanlight. The side walls each feature two semi-circular headed windows with Gothick glazing. The interior retains original box pews and a plain gallery to the south. The chapel is included in the register as a complete and unaltered example. Historical documentation includes a history of the Baptist Church at Atch Lench, Worcestershire (1825-1925).
