Description
The Old Post House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered brick infill set on a lias plinth and has a tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays that are aligned north to south, with an additional brick bay added to the north. There is a stack located at the north end of the two framed bays. The house is one storey high with an attic, which is illuminated by a 2-light casement window in the central gablet. On the ground floor, there are two angled bay windows with hipped tile roofs that flank a roughly central entrance. To the left of the entrance is a 3-light casement window, and there is a lean-to canopy above the entrance leading to a ledged door. The south gable features three square panels high with curved tension braces, and there are 19th-century herringbone struts supporting the truss.
