Description

Hobden Hall Farmhouse is probably of early 17th and 18th century origin, with a partial demolition occurring in 1984. The farmhouse is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and brick, and has a tile roof with brick coped verges. The right (south) gable features chimneys with two reconstructed six-point star-plan shafts. The west front has a chamfered plinth and is two storeys and an attic in height. A central two-storey porch, with a crenellated parapet and moulded cornice to the rest of the elevation, is present. Windows are set within moulded architraves, and a former entry in the porch, originally semi-circular headed with ogee moulding, has been replaced by a late 20th century window. The current entrance is at the rear of the house. A mid-18th century cross-wing to the north end was demolished in 1984.
