Description

The Stoke Prior War Memorial is a First World War memorial designed by the Bromsgrove Guild and was erected around 1920. It is made of stone and features a Celtic wheel-cross with intricate strapwork carving that extends down the tapering shaft. The cross stands on a steeply-tapering square-section plinth, which is set on a three-stepped square platform. The plinth is decorated with carved designs in triangular fields that flank the inscriptions. The main inscription on the south-west face reads: "OUR GLORIOUS DEAD 1914-1918." The south-east face lists 11 names, while the north-east and north-west faces each list 12 names.
