Description

Danzey Green Windmill is an early 19th-century post mill, likely built by Robert Summers. It was re-erected and restored in 1971. The windmill features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, resting on a brick base. The base is shaped like a truncated cone and encloses the wooden support for the buck. The entrances to the base have segmental heads. The tail pole includes steps leading to the buck, which contains one floor inside. The windmill has two pairs of sails: one pair of spring sails and one pair of canvas sails. Most of the machinery inside, including the brake wheel, is original. The mill was relocated from Danzey Green in Warwickshire in 1969.
