Description

Hillend Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century and restoration in the 1970s. It features a timber frame with rendered infill, partly clad in brick, and has a tile roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned north-east to south-west.

The south-east front has two storeys and two windows: a 3-light casement window on the left and a single-light casement window under a segmental head on the right. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light casement windows under segmental heads. The entrance is located in the left-hand corner, featuring a wooden architrave under a segmental head and a half-glazed door.

The framing is visible in the right-hand gable, which has three square panels high, and the truss includes three struts to the collar with V-struts in the apex. This house remains in its original location.
