Description
Church Mill House is a house that likely dates back to the 15th century and was extended in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, which has been extended in stuccoed brick, and has a tile and hipped slate roof. The building is in an L-shape, with the early 19th-century section extending to the south and the 15th-century cruck hall to the east.
The main front of the house faces west and is two storeys high with three windows. There are two full-height canted bay windows with flat roofs, and the central window is a glazing bar sash. The ground floor has a central entrance that features a pilastered doorcase with a full entablature above and a shallow canopy. There is a marginally glazed overlight above the panelled door.
Inside, the house has exposed beams that are chamfered and stopped at the ceiling, and a cruck truss is visible in the east gable. The side walls contain two large square panels that are high.
