Description
Green End Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century that was restored in the late 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered and painted brick infill and a tiled roof. The building has a T-plan layout with three bays, aligned north to south, and a two-bay stem to the east (rear). There is an external sandstone stack with an oven on the north gable, topped with a diamond-plan brick shaft. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, which is lit by three late 20th-century gabled dormers. It has four windows of various sizes, fitted with late 20th-century plate glass casements. The entrance is roughly central, featuring a flat canopy and a late 20th-century ledged door. The framing consists of three rectangular panels high with straight angle braces in the south bay. The north and south gables have two queen struts supporting the collar and trenched purlins.
