Description
Buskwood Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century that was restored in the late 20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill sitting on a painted rubble base, topped with a slate roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned north-west to south-east and features an external rendered rubble chimney with stone-tiled offsets, a circular bread oven, and a detached brick stack at the north-west end. The cottage is single storey with an attic that includes dormers. The framing consists of two panels from the sill to the wall-plate, and a collar and tie-beam truss with two struts at the north-west end. On the south-west front elevation, there are 20th-century casement windows, including a two-light window and a single-light window on the ground floor, a gabled dormer with a two-light window, and a 20th-century gabled porch with a 20th-century door and rectangular lights on each side. Additionally, there is a large 20th-century addition that adjoins the cottage to the north-east.
