Description
Doverdale Manor is a house built in the early 18th century, with alterations from the early 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick with painted stone dressings and features a shallow-pitched roof with gable end stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has a stone parapet, a moulded stone cornice, and chamfered quoins. There are five windows, which are flush-framed glazing bar sashes; the second floor has 9-pane windows, all topped with rubbed brick heads and fluted keystones. The central entrance is highlighted by a tripartite, pilastered porch with a segmental pediment above and narrow 3-pane side-lights flanking a 6-panelled door. On the left return front, there is a two-storey early 19th-century bow window that has three glazing bar sashes on each floor. Inside, the staircase features three balusters to the tread, which are twisted-columnar-twisted, and has carved tread ends.
