Description
Stoney Lane Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with 18th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. It is timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, and sandstone ashlar. The building has a T-plan shape; the original north/south bar dates from the 17th century, with an east-facing stem added in the 18th century constructed of ashlar. The south front features a gabled cross-wing to the left, which has one storey and an attic lit by a 2-light casement window. A ground floor French casement is also present. To the right is a two-storey section of rendered ashlar with an irregular arrangement of windows – four windows to the upper floor with one and two-light casements, and four windows to the ground floor with one and three-light casements. There are two entrances: one to the left with a gabled canopy, and one to the right. The timber framing is visible on the west front, consisting of three square panels stacked high.
