Description
Northfield Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It features timber-framing with a brick facade and a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The windows are mid-19th century casements with three lights and segmental heads. The door, located between the bays, is sheltered by a gabled open timber porch. There are projecting chimney stacks at the gables, with the left-hand stack featuring diagonal shafts. The left gable wall shows some exposed framing with long straight braces. The truss includes a tie-beam, collar, and V-struts. At the rear of the house, there are two parallel wings, with the right-hand wing displaying exposed framing in irregular square panels.
