Description
Whittemere is a house that possibly dates back to the 15th century. It features a combination of timber-framing and brick, topped with a tile roof. The building has one storey with an attic and includes a two-storey cross-wing on the right side. The cross-wing has two sashed windows with glazing bars on the ground floor and one casement window on the first floor. The jowled principal posts are exposed, and the truss includes a tie-beam, collar, and curved struts. The main range has a large projecting chimney stack with a lean-to addition to its left. To the right of the main range, there are two casement windows and two attic dormers. Adjoining the cross-wing on the right is a doorway that is sheltered by a tiled canopy. There are also two chimney stacks on the right-hand wall of the cross-wing. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
