Description

Thatched Cottage is a 17th-century house located in Hanley Castle. It features timber-framing with some brick infill and a thatched roof, and it is one storey high with an attic. The building is framed in irregular square panels and has four casement windows on the ground floor, along with two eyebrow dormers. The door is positioned to the right of the left-hand window. Inside, two ceiling beams are tusk-tenoned through the front wall. The gable chimneys are prominent, and the right-hand gable wall displays a long straight tension brace along with a truss that includes a tie-beam, collar, and struts.
