Description
The Nibletts is a 17th-century house located in Hanley Castle, featuring a combination of timber-framing and brick with a tiled roof. The building is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys. The windows are 20th-century casements. On the left side, there is a cross-wing that has one bay, where the original timber framing has been replaced by brick, except for the principal post on the left and the roof truss, which includes three struts between the tie-beam and collar, along with V-struts above. The adjoining range, which is at right angles to the main structure, displays some exposed square-panelled framing and has two windows on the ground floor and one on the first floor. A door is located at the angle of the two wings, providing access into the cross-wing. A chimney projects from the right-hand gable and is also present on the left-hand wall of the cross-wing. The right-hand gable truss mirrors the design of the cross-wing truss.
