Description
The Three Kings Inn is a public house dating from the 16th century, with earlier remains and 19th-century alterations. It features a combination of brick and timber-framing, topped with a roof made of slate and tile. The building has two storeys, with the main range on the left consisting of two bays and a brick facade. On the ground floor, there are timber canted bay windows, and all windows are sashed with glazing bars. Doors are located between the bays. To the right, a cross-wing with a steeper pitched tile roof connects to the main range. This wing has two timber canted bay windows with casements and a central doorway on the ground floor. The first floor of the wing is close-studded and features curved tension braces. The gable includes a fishbone king-post truss and diagonal studding. There are chimneys located to the left of the cross-wing and on the left-hand wall of the main range, which also has an exposed cruck truss. The interior is said to contain further cruck trusses.
