Description
Ruddshole is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill set on a rubble plinth and has a tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays oriented north-east to south-west, with a lateral stack located at the south end of the north-west wall. The south-east front is one storey high with an attic, which is illuminated by two dormers that have lean-to roofs. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light casement windows beneath plank weatherings. The entrance, located to the left of centre, has a plain wooden architrave and a ledged and boarded door. The framing includes three square panels high with straight tension braces. The gable-end trusses feature two struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex. Inside, there are exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
