Description
Old Church Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with extensions added in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick and rendered infill set on a coursed rubble plinth, topped with a tile roof. The building has three framed bays oriented east to west and includes a central chimney stack.
The east front is two storeys high, gabled, and jettied, showcasing a 2-light casement window above a 3-light casement window. The entrance is located in the south wall, accessed through a mid-20th century half-glazed extension. The framing consists of four square panels high. The jetty is supported by a chamfered bressummer and curved brackets. The gable-end truss was rebuilt in the 19th century and is now flush with the wall below; it was originally jettied with brackets extending to the wall-plates.
