Description
Manor Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with an extension from the 18th century and restoration in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with rendered infill and a slate roof. The building consists of three framed bays aligned east to west, with the gable end facing the street. It has been extended to the west in rubble and includes a central stack and a lobby entrance.
The east front, which faces the street, is two storeys high and jetties at the first floor, with a shallow projection of the tie-beam. There is a 2-light casement window on the first floor above a 3-light casement and another 2-light casement below. The framing consists of four square panels high, supported by straight angle braces. The gable features carved wooden brackets supporting the tie-beam. The truss includes two collars, multiple struts, and V-struts at the apex. Both the bressummer of the jetty and the tie-beam have simple chamfers.
