Description

The walls, gate piers, and gates enclosing the courtyard east of Severn End date from the late 17th century and late 19th century. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature wrought iron gates. Two walls extend eastward from the north and south wings of Severn End and end at piers topped with ball finials. These walls are connected by a low wall with stone coping that includes central gate piers of square plan. The piers are adorned with a stone lion and a stone griffin.
