Description
Ballards Farm is a house dating from the 17th century, with possible earlier remains. It features timber-framing, mostly covered in brick, and has a tiled roof. The house is two storeys high, with the south wall displaying two large projecting chimney stacks, one on the left and one on the right. The windows are 20th-century casements. There is a door next to the right-hand ground floor window, and a second doorway situated between the chimneys. The roof is half-hipped on the left side. The right-hand gable wall reveals some exposed framing on the first floor, including a truss with vertical struts connecting the tie-beam and collar, along with V-struts above. The left-hand gable wall, facing west, features irregular square-panelled framing that includes jowled posts and a tie-beam from a now-demolished adjoining building. The interior has not been inspected.
