Description
Bank Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill on a brick base and features a plain tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays that are aligned roughly east to west. An external chimney with tiled offsets and a detached brick stack is located at the east end. The house is a single storey with an attic that includes a dormer.
The framing includes three rows of panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with collar and tie-beam trusses supported by two struts beneath the collar and a V-strut above at the gable ends. On the north front elevation, there are two 2-light casement windows at ground level, which are situated beneath plank weatherings. The gable ends have attic lights. The main entrance is located in the rear south elevation and features a ledged and battened door. Additionally, there is a raking-top dormer with a 2-light casement in the south elevation, and a lean-to outshut is positioned at the west end.
