KNIGHTON ON TEME CP NEWNHAM BRIDGE WORCESTER ROAD Deepcroft Cottage

(Formerly listed as Deepcroft Cottage, MAIN ROAD (north side))

II House. C17 with mid C19 and mid C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed, painted brick infill, raised Welsh slate roof. Two framed bays aligned east/west; large external brick chimney with offsets to east side elevation; also C20 external brick stack to west side. Two storeys and attic.

Framing: four panels from sill to original wall-plate, one additional row added to front and rear; short straight braces in upper corners; collar and tie-beam trusses with struts retained at gable ends. South front elevation: two ground floor three-light casements with plank weatherings, two first floor two- light casements. Attic lights in gable ends.

Interior not inspected.

Main entrance in C20 gabled single storey addition at west gable end. Also lean-to addition enclosing external chimney at east gable end.
