Description

The Cottage is a 17th-century house located on the north side of Quay Lane in Hanley Castle. It features a timber-framed structure with brick infill and a tiled roof, designed in an L-shape and consisting of two storeys. The main range runs east to west and includes a doorway to the left of a projecting wing, which is sheltered by a tiled canopy, along with a first-floor window. The east gable displays vertical struts between the tie-beam and collar, with V-struts positioned above. On the front (south) gable wall of the wing, there is a window situated between the tie-beam and the collar, also with V-struts above. The house has chimneys located at the rear.
