Description
The Arches is a house dating from the 17th century, with some later alterations. It features a timber frame with some brick rebuilding and has a plain tile roof with a central brick stack. The building is aligned north-west to south-east and faces south-west. It has one storey and an attic, with two windows that are 20th-century casements set in 18th-century surrounds, both with segmental heads. There are two gabled dormers, a glazed door to the left, and a half-glazed door to the right, both also with segmental heads. To the right, there is a single-storey, single-bay lean-to extension. The rear and both gable ends display exposed timber framing, with three square panels at the eaves. Inside, there are collar and tie beam roof trusses with V-struts above the collar and three vertical struts below.
